Car Burglaries in Las Vegas are more common then you would think. In the past month we have seen our fair share of incidents where windows have been smashed out of vehicles. The last two windows we fixed were actually tinted windows. Many people think that by having tinted windows that their vehicle will actually be safer then a vehicle without tinted windows and they might actually be true however having tinted windows will not eliminate all possibilities of getting broken into.
The last vehicle we did was a 2012 Nissan Maxima passenger side front door glass. The customer claims they went to the Starbucks off Tropicana and Fort Apache and went in briefly to get a cup of coffee. When she came back out here vehicle’s window had been smashed in and her purse was stolen. The purse was hidden beneath the seat and wasn’t visible from the outside of the vehicle.
Last month less then 5 miles away from the Starbucks where the Maxima was broken into we fixed a rear drivers side window on a Ford Fusion where they had their car parked in an apartment complex parking lot and their window was also tinted. This has proven to us that simply having tinted windows will not ensure your vehicle will be safe.
In November we fixed a passenger side rear quarter window on a Range Rover. This Range Rover was parked at Town Square and was broken into during the daytime. Some golf clubs were visible and had been stolen during the smash and grab incident. This vehicle did not have tinted windows however the theft happened during the daytime. Town Square has mobile roving security so it was surprising to us that this had happened especially during the day.
The only advice we can give you is not to leave anything of value in your vehicle at any time if you are visiting Las Vegas or live in Las Vegas. Crime happens everywhere in this town. Good Neighborhoods and Bad Neighborhoods criminals don’t discriminate!
